Are you a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) looking to contribute to exciting, high-profile projects within a growing and dynamic team?
We are looking for an experienced SDET to join our team, where you will focus on technical testing with an emphasis on test automation and deliver optimal value for our extensive client base.
You will also play an essential role in the testing discipline across all areas of our work, identify opportunities for improvement, and adopt the most effective practices to stay at the forefront of the industry while delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Your role
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Develop and execute automated tests, API tests, and performance tests to ensure high-quality software performance.
• Contribute to security testing efforts, enhancing the resilience of our applications against potential vulnerabilities.
• Perform manual testing as needed to support overall test coverage and project requirements.
• Review requirements, conduct test analysis, design and organise test cases, execute tests, and raise defects as part of the JBA formal test process aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO29119).
• Manage test cases, traceability, defect tracking, and execution logs using Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Engage in projects that are generally ‘domain technical’ in nature, primarily focusing on spatial and geotechnical sectors for scientific or engineering organisations.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Mentoring and supporting earlier career analysts as needed.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and driven, with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You should have excellent analytical and effective communication skills, with a proven ability in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent) in IT or a related field, or proven experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test.
Essential attributes for the role
Applicants will have:
• Proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining test a automation frameworks.
• Ability to design and implement API test cases.
• Strong capability to analyse technical requirements and formulate appropriate tests.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for working within cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps for task management, traceability, defect tracking, and execution logging.
• An understanding of waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
Desirable attributes for the role
Other desirable attributes for the role include:
• Experience in Performance Testing.
• Experience in Security/Penetration Testing.
• Hold professional certifications in test analysis.
• Knowledge and understanding of modern software principles, including APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
• Exposure to industry-standard software test processes, particularly ISO29119.
• Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
